Cristina Lama: Vigilia
Past exhibition
Overview
Cristina Lama has a singular artistic world which turns between figurative and abstract paintings. In the first ones, she generates scenographic compositions, while her abstract works are composed by colour spots.
Her artwork is characterized by the expressiveness and speed of gesture, so she works with fresh oil, applying high amounts of material in every brush-stroke. In her paintings there are no rules or perspective. The figures are displayed in the same level than the background or they have no background at all. The represented objects are subordinated to the real intention of the work, which is the painting process above all.
Her work has been exhibited in contemporary art centres such as CAAC Sevilla, CAC Málaga, Museo de la Diputación de Huelva, MIAM de Sète, Giorgio Cini Foundation, as well as in galleries all over the world (Italy, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Mexico, Canada...). Her work is in both private and public collections such as the CAAC Sevilla, CAC Málaga, Benetton Art Spain Collection, Julian Schnabel in New York, Irwan Pean in Hong Kong, Cordeiros Collection in Oporto or Carragosela Collection in Lisboa, among others
