CUT(me)OUT PAINTINGS is Edu Carrillo’s second exhibition at VETA by Fer Francés. The show presents a series of cut-out works inspired by everyday life, the painter’s tools, and art history, all filtered through different forms of violence. Created with an approach close to Surrealism and underground comics, the pieces oscillate between more explicit manifestations of violence—such as weapons or wounds—and subtler ones, such as pressure or fear. Taken together, they propose small open-ended narratives, a kind of pictorial true crime that each viewer completes in their own way.
