Edu Carrillo
Edu Carrillo is an artist who blends tradition and modernity in his own distinctive and recognizable style. A graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca, his work draws on classical figurative painting, from Philip Guston to the great Spanish masters of the Golden Age, and updates it with the perspective and sensibility of his generation.
His work creates a vibrant and colorful universe where fantasy, love, music, dance, and nature coexist with characters who adopt spontaneous gestures and carefree attitudes. Influenced by popular culture, anime, comics, and video games, Carrillo seeks to convey freshness, fun, and a certain innocence, while maintaining a deep respect for painting and its process, ensuring that each piece reflects the artist's energy and presence. Through his canvases and drawings, he combines expressive gestures with intense palettes, bringing to life dynamic scenes that invite the viewer to immerse themselves in his world.
Carrillo has exhibited his work in national and international venues, such as VETA by Fer Francés, Madrid (2025), ArteSantander, Santander (2025), CAN Ibiza, Ibiza (2025), JPS Gallery, Tokyo (2022), and Atomic 101 Art, Shanghai (2021), solidifying his reputation as a young artist both in Spain and abroad. His paintings, always vibrant and spontaneous, aim to allow viewers to feel the energy of the creative process and enjoy a world where tradition, contemporary style, and visual play intertwine.
