Gabriela Ruiz: (Dirty Realism: Otra Noche en L.A.)

VETA by Fer Francés presents the solo exhibition of Gabriela Ruiz as part of Dirty Realism: Otra Noche en L.A. 

 

Gabriela Ruiz (California, 1991) is a self-taught artist whose practice blends diverse forms of expression and media, including sculpture, video, painting, and apparel design. Strongly inflenced by growing up in LA´s San Fernando Valley to inmigrant parents from Mexico, Ruiz's practice reflects the DIY work ethic she was raised under the vibrancy of Mexican cultural and artistics traditions, and her exposure to subculture and fantasy at a young age as a means to escape the realities of daily life. Ruiz's work has recently been exhibited at Palm Springs Art Museum, Vicent Price Art Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara.
