La Quinta del Sordo was located very close to what is now VETA, an art gallery in Carabanchel near Madrid Río, which has been exhibiting this series of paintings by Matías Sánchez since March 5th. The series takes its title from the legendary Madrid residence of Goya.
Although born in Germany, Sánchez lives and works in Seville, where he has developed much of his artistic career. While abstract painting dominates his body of work, expressionist influences are clearly present.
